Excursion to Perast and Lady of the Rock

Our journey begins in Kotor, where we set off by boat toward the island of Our Lady of the Rocks. After about twenty minutes of cruising through the Bay of Kotor, we arrive at this unique island in Boka Bay.
On the island you will find a church, a museum, and a small souvenir shop. Inside the church, visitors can see the original icon of the Holy Mother of God. According to legend, the icon was discovered on a rock near Perast by the Mortešići brothers. It took nearly 200 years for the people of Perast to create the artificial island of Our Lady of the Rocks by throwing stones into the sea. Today, the island is also considered the protector of all sailors who enter the Bay of Kotor.
Our tour then continues to Perast, the charming town located directly across from the island. Perast is often described as an open-air Baroque museum. This picturesque place proudly stands between the sea and the mountains, preserving its Mediterranean charm and rich tradition. Recognizable for its Baroque palaces, Catholic churches, and old defensive towers, Perast takes visitors back to the golden age of Boka’s maritime history.
We will spend about 40 minutes in Perast, giving you enough time to explore this beautiful small town and enjoy a relaxing coffee by the seaside. After visiting Perast, we return to Kotor.
