Cetinje – Lovćen day trip

This time, we take you on an unforgettable journey to Cetinje – Lovćen. Lovćen National Park is one of Montenegro’s five national parks and stands as a symbol of Montenegrin freedom and heroism. From the top of Lovćen, you can enjoy one of the most spectacular panoramas in Montenegro.

The highlight of this tour is the visit to the Mausoleum of Petar II Petrović Njegoš, which sits atop Jezerce Peak. To reach the mausoleum, you will climb 461 steps, and once at the top, you are rewarded with breathtaking views. Opened in 1974, the mausoleum is not only significant for its location but also for the rich natural, cultural, and historical heritage that surrounds it in the national park.

Continuing our tour, we visit Cetinje, the historical capital of Montenegro, known as the “Valley of the Gods,” where rich traditions and cultural heritage converge. This town leaves no visitor indifferent, offering a sense of timelessness and historical immersion. Key sights include the King Nikola Museum and the Cetinje Monastery, and you can also sample some traditional Montenegrin dishes.

We depart from Kotor and drive to Lovćen along one of Montenegro’s most impressive roads, famous for its 25 sharp hairpin turns. Built in the late 19th century, these serpentine roads are a testament to the visionary engineering of the time. We will make a stop here so you can take photos and enjoy the magnificent views of the Bay of Kotor.

Before returning to Kotor, we stop in Budva, one of Montenegro’s most popular coastal destinations. Here you can explore Budva Old Town and St. Mary’s Fortress, which offers panoramic views of Sveti Nikola Island, the city, and the stunning coastline with its long sandy beaches.
