Book a Blue Cave boat tour and discover one of the most breathtaking natural attractions in the Bay of Kotor. During this trip, you will enjoy stunning panoramic views of Perast, Our Lady of the Rocks, Tivat, Porto Montenegro, and Herceg Novi.
Our first short stop will be near the entrance of the abandoned submarine tunnels built by the Yugoslav military. These tunnels were once used to hide submarines from enemy surveillance and air attacks. Today, they are a popular spot for divers and visitors who come here to swim and explore.
After that, we continue our journey as the view opens toward Mamula Island. Mamula was originally built as a defensive fortress designed to block enemy ships from entering the Bay of Kotor. During World War II, the Italians turned it into a concentration camp known for its harsh conditions and cruel treatment of prisoners. In recent years, the island has been transformed into a luxury resort. While cruising past, our skipper will share the fascinating history of Mamula Fortress as you enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the island located between the Luštica Peninsula and Prevlaka.
Our next and main destination is the Blue Cave. The cave has two entrances, and the larger one is wide enough for boats and small vessels to enter directly inside. This allows visitors to experience the magical reflection of sunlight on the water, which creates the cave’s famous glowing blue color.
We highly recommend swimming directly from the boat and using a snorkeling mask, as it is the best way to explore the magical underwater world of the cave. Life jackets are available for guests who are less confident swimmers. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced swimmer, our tour is designed for everyone, because your enjoyment is our top priority.
On our way back to Kotor, we will stop at the island of Our Lady of the Rocks. This island is home to a Catholic church rebuilt in 1722 and famous for its 68 Baroque paintings by the renowned Perast artist Tripo Kokolja. According to legend, if you place your hand on the rock behind the altar where the icon of the Virgin Mary stands and make a wish, it will surely come true.
What to bring: Sunscreen, hat, towel, swimsuit, sunglasses, and a light jacket in case of cooler weather.
